The Newborn Screening and Metabolism research group is working on the development of better, faster and safer analyses in the fields of genetics, biochemistry and bioinformatics. One of the overarching goals of the research group is to form the basis for expanding newborn screening to include more serious and treatable diseases. The group is working on projects in congenital metabolic disorders and other genetic conditions in children. The research group is affiliated with the national treatment service for newborn screening and advanced laboratory diagnostics for congenital metabolic disorders and MetabERN.
