The Biological Psychiatry group investigates biological mechanisms in severe mental disorders to improve knowledge with potential implications for prevention, treatment, diagnostics and prediction of illness course.
The research focuses particularly on inflammation and mechanisms of cardiovascular comorbidity, integrating genetic, biological, environmental and clinical data. Data are drawn from clinical samples, biobanks and health registries, in close collaboration with the immune research expertise at the Research Institute of Internal Medicine, Oslo University Hospital.
