Illness trajectories and outcome prediction

Group leader: Ingrid Melle

The Illness Trajectories and Outcome Prediction group investigates the long-term course of psychotic disorders by following patients from their first treatment. The aim is to identify symptom trajectories, key risk factors, and predictors of recovery versus persistent illness.

The group combines clinical, genetic, cognitive, and brain imaging data with information on environmental factors such as trauma, migration, urbanicity and substance use. By understanding what drives different illness trajectories, the research contributes to improved prediction of outcomes and the development of more personalized treatment strategies.
