Dutch Leiden University Cluster headache neuro-analysis program (LUCA)
Individuals with cluster headache in the Leiden University Cluster headache neuro-Analysis program (LUCA) were recruited between 2010 and 2015 via the project’s website. Cluster headache was diagnosed in specialized headache centers to minimize misclassification. Most cases and all controls originated from the same geographical region, in the Western part of the Netherlands. Samples have been genotyped using the Infinium CoreExome array (Illumina).https://www.lumc.nl/org/hoofdpijn-onderzoek/onderzoek/clusterhoofdpijn/?setlanguage=English&setcountry=en

Karolinska University Hospital neurology clinic
Recruitment occurred between 2014-2017 at the Karolinska University Hospital neurology clinic, Stockholm, Sweden. Patients fulfilling the International Classification of Headache Disorders-3beta edition (ICHD-3b) diagnostic criteria for cluster headache were included. Diagnosis was confirmed by headache specialists and through medical records. Samples have been genotyped using the Infinium Global Screening Array (Illumina).

UK cluster headache samples (University College London) Recruitment at specialist-led headache clinics occurred between 2003-2018, starting at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London, UK. Cluster headache diagnoses according to current criteria (ICHD-3b), review by two independent neurologists was required if one ICHD-3b criterion was not met. Samples have been genotyped using the Infinium Global Screening Array (Illumina).

Trondheim Cluster headache cohort
Patients with cluster headache were recruited at the Norwegian Advisory Unit on Headaches, St Olav’s Hospital, Trondheim (Norway) between 2005 and 2016, with the inclusion criterion being the definite diagnosis of cluster headache according to the current classification system, the diagnosis being made by a neurologist with special competence in headache disorders. Samples have been genotyped using the Infinium CoreExome genotyping array (Illumina).

HUNT
The Nord-Trøndelag Health Study (HUNT) is an ongoing population-based cohort study from the county of Nord-Trøndelag in Norway in four waves between 1984 and 2019. Approximately 120,000 inhabitants have participated in at least one survey. All participants have provided questionnaire, interview, and measurement data, which can be found at the HUNT databank In addition, about 80,000 participants have provided biological samples for storage at the HUNT biobank DNA samples from about 70,000 participants in HUNT2 and HUNT3 have been genotyped using the Infinium CoreExome genotyping array (Illumina). Genotyping of HUNT4 is ongoing.
