Cand.scient. Ellen Margrethe Haugsten from the laboratory of Sjur Olsnes at the Institute for Cancer Research defended her PhD thesis, entitled "Endocytosis and intracellular transport of FGF1 and the FGF receptors" on Friday April 17th.

Her trial lecture - on the subject "Role of fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) and their receptors in carcinogenesis" was held the day before.

Both events took place in the "Small Auditorium" in the "New Radiation Building" at The Norwegian Radium Hospital, Montebello, Oslo.

The work has been carried out at the Department of Biochemistry with professor Sjur Olsnes as supervisor.
