A review article about in vitro studies of nanoparticles was recently published in Nano Today (journal impact factor 13.3) by Tore-Geir Iversen, Tore Skotland and Kirsten Sandvig. In this review the authors present the present knowledge and need for future studies. The possibilities, challenges and pitfalls in studies of cellular uptake and toxicity of nanoparticles are discussed.

The same authors published a review article (in Nanomedicine) about the use of nanoparticles for in vivo imaging half a year ago.
