The Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA) is one of the largest divisions at Oslo University Hospital. The division comprises 8 departments, of which one is the Department for Research and Innovation which is solely dedicated for conducting and coordinating research in mental health and addiction. The other seven departments are clinical departments with some variation in their degree of research activity. The division publishes 250-300 scientific articles in peer-reviewed international journals per year. The overall strategic goal of the division is to conduct high quality translational research that generates new knowledge and leads to better diagnostics and treatment of mental illnesses. This will be accomplished through innovation and implementation of evidence-based practice and new knowledge. We also aim to integrate research and education as inherent parts of the clinical services. We collaborate closely with the University of Oslo in research and teaching activities.
