Why is sex and gender so important? New!

First sort out: Sex/gender issues in your research and in the management/work of your project. Many templates ask for answers to both so handle them separately in the proper chapters in your text.

Science:

In your scientific work, you should explain under method how your analysis/agenda have taken sex/gender questions into account.  You may say it is not important and has not been considered. However, there should be a reason for this.

And the difference between sex and gender: Sex refers to biological characteristics and gender to social/cultural factors.

For guidance on methods of sex / gender analysis and the issues to be taken into account, you may refer to:

Project management and work:

In management and scientific work of a project it is important to show a good balance between females and males. If it is not clear from the names or roles of persons indicate if they are male or female or sum up that the project is executed by a balanced team. It is important to assure the funding bodies that a project is not run by old men. So, do a proper job in assigning leadership and roles in your project to the right persons.
