The BKB research group Pediatric Oncology Research Group for Integrated and Translational Research
The BKB research group was established as a separate research group in October 2024, after the merger of the previous research groups TRANSLATE and INTEPRET. The reason for the merger was a desire for a joint pediatric oncology research unit, as it is seen that basic biological research, translational research, clinical research and late-effect research are increasingly integrated. The department is actively building a broad biobank for pediatric cancer, which became national from Jan-19, and wants to be at the forefront of drug testing and personalized medicine for children with cancer and blood diseases, as well as research on late-effects and quality of life during and after cancer treatment. The BKB research group is seeking national and international binding research collaborations and aims to develop a good joint infrastructure and a stimulating environment for research on children and adolescents with cancer and blood diseases.
