Marit Witsø

Marit Witsø graduated as a Medical Doctor in 2015 from Szczecin Medical University. Since then she has been working at Akershus University Hospital, first as a part of her internship and the last 3 year as a resident in internal medicine. She joined the research group in 2021.

Her PhD work focuses on speckle tracking in the myocardium and the blood. Utilizing a novel technology for a thorough and throughout assessment of left ventricular function, both in healthy lifelong endurance athletes and in patients with heart failure. Witsø has presented several abstracts at both national and international conferences.

Her supervisors are Helge Skulstad, MD, PhD, Espen Remme, Dr.Ing, PhD and Otto Smiseth, MD, PhD.
