Cover article in Neoplasia by Lin Thorstensen and coworkers
In this article, WNT signaling, which is important in normal development as well as in cancer, is studied in Norwegian colorectal cancer patients. One or more of eight analysed genes revealed mutations or methylation modifications in more than 90% of the cases. Patients with a mutated APC (adenomatous polyposis coli) gene affecting all b-catenin binding sites in their tumor, had a poor disease outcome.
