State visit to Portugal, May 2008.
King Harald and Queen Sonja visited Portugal together with several representatives of the Norwegian government. This arrangement also included a royal visit and a whole day Cancer Seminar at the IPATIMUP (Institute of Molecular Pathology and Immunology of the University of Porto). Our department has a long standing collaboration with several of the groups at IPATIMUP and Ragnhild A. Lothe was invited as one of the speakers.

During the visit, Professor Manuel Sobrinho-Simões, director of IPATIMUP received The Royal Norwegian order of Merit-Commander (Den Kongelige Norske Fortjenestorden - Kommandør) by King Harald the V.
