The Oslo Cancer Cluster Forum 2007 - at Rikshospitatet 17th of October

The Oslo Cancer Cluster Forum 2007 - entitled "“Business development through cluster cooperation - from research to cancer treatment” takes place at Rikshospitalet on Wednesday 17th of October. The Norwegian Institute for Cancer Research at Montebello is heavily involved in the Oslo Cancer Cluster (OCC).
Recently the OCC was awarded Norwegian Center of Expertise (NCE) status and special additional funding by the Norwegian government.
Oslo Cancer Cluster invites Life Science companies and academic research Institutions in the greater Oslo Region to join forces in establishing a cluster and to work hard with this collaboration to gather strength and support in order to reach our ambition and thereby become the most attractive Research Based Industrial Cluster in Europe for Cancer Diagnostics and Treatment Innovations by 2015.

From the press release, "OSLO CANCER CLUSTER GAINS NCE STATUS":

“Oslo has all the required elements for success: research institutes, hospitals, Phase I units, and an epidemiological network, represented by the Norwegian Cancer Registry and a strong industrial base of around 25 oncology-related companies ranging from spinouts to big pharma.”
“With these resources we aim to develop strong areas of cancer research including immunotherapy, breast cancer genomics and proteomics, cancer stem cell biology, and photodynamic therapy and provide the framework for their translation into new therapeutics for the benefit of cancer patients.”
