King Olav V's cancer research prize 2006 to Øystein Fodstad

King Olav V's cancer research prize for 2006 was on June 12th given to professor Øystein Fodstad from the Department of Tumor Biology at the Institute for cancer research at the Norwegian Radium Hospital.
The prestigious prize is distributed by the Norwegian Cancer Society.

His research activities are spanning from studies of different factors involved in causing loss of growth control in tumorigenic cells, to biological characterization of the metastatic phenotype as well as detection, prognostication and therapy of metastatic disease.
