Immunogene therapy project on children leukemia supported by EU

Gustav Gaudernack from Section of Immuno Therapy at the Institute for Cancer Research and Gunnar Kvalheim from Laboratory for Cellular Therapy has got funding from the EU project "Childhope". The resources will be used for testing immunogene therapy in children with leukemia.
The project was given funding in full, and will receive abour three million NOK over a period of three years. The competence that has been built up at the Section of Immuno Therapy and the Laboratory for Cellular Therapy will by fully utilized.

In all eight European cancer centres participate in this project.

The first clinical trials are expected to start within two years. In Norway these will take place at the childrens clinic at the National Hospital, led by Finn Wesenberg.
