Ph.D.:
The University of Oslo, 1979. Dissertation: Interaction of the toxic lectins abrin, ricin and modeccin with mammalian cells.

Postgraduate positions:
1979- cont. Senior biochemist at The Institute for Cancer Research at the Norwegian Radium Hospital, Oslo, Norway.
1996- Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Oslo (in addition to the position at the Norwegian Radium Hospital).

Visiting scientist:
The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, 3 months, 1979.
