Article from Vessela N. Kristensen awarded by Helse Sør RHF

In order to stimulate excellent research, the "Southern Norway Regional Health Authority" ("Helse Sør RHF") rewards six outstanding publications every half-year. A paper with Vessela N. Kristensen from the Department of Genetics as first author was chosen as one of the two winners in the category "basic research" for the first part of 2006.

The article, entitled "Genetic variation in putative regulatory loci controlling gene expression in breast cancer", was published in the May issue of top rated journal "PNAS" (impact factor 10,23).
Vessela N. Kristensen - who is heading the Cancer genome variation group at the Department of Genetics at the Institute for Cancer Research - has written a summary of the findings (in Norwegian), which has been published on Helse Sør's web pages.
