New cancer review journal edited at RR-Medical Centre: Critical Reviews in Oncogenesis

Ragnhild A. Lothe (Editor-in-Chief) and Rolf I. Skotheim (Managing Editor) from the Department for Cancer Prevention, Institute for Cancer Research are responsible for the relaunch of the journal Critical Reviews in Oncogenesis (CRO). The first double issue was recently published.
This joint venture between the Begell House and the Dept. Cancer Prevention was initiated by the RR-HF international director Jan Vincents Johannessen, and was supported by scientific director of the Institute for Cancer Research, Erlend Smeland.
The previous CRO was published until 2000, and is now relaunched with new editors and new design. Two highly profiled international scientists act as associate editors, Olli Kallioniemi, VTT, Finland, and Manel Esteller, CNIO, Spain. Furthermore, an editorial board of active scientists of high international standard serves for the journal, including from our own institution, Håvard E. Danielsen and Øyvind S. Bruland.

CRO attempts to attract a broad range of readers, from those dedicated to cancer research, to those with educational interests. The journal will cover basic research, translational and clinical issues, as well as epidemiological studies, all which are corner stones in any comprehensive cancer centre.

In addition to critical review articles, CRO is also presenting new PhDs in the cancer research field. New PhDs and their supervisors are encouraged to submit short summaries of their defended studies. In this manner, new PhDs may expose their work to an international audience.
