The Norwegian Microarray Consortium
Shortly after the Microarray Project was started, first as a collaboration between the groups of Fodstad, Hovig and Myklebost, at the Department of Tumour Biology, and subsequently as an Institutional Priority Area at the Radium Hospital, The Norwegian Microarray Consortium was founded, together with groups at the Universities of Trondheim and Bergen. This is a collaborative effort to establish the microarray technology in Norway and make it readily avaliable to Norwegian scientists, and besides extensive investment from the insitutions, a major grant from the Norwegian Cancer Society was crucial for our success. The Consortium applied for a grant to run a national microarray platform under the FUGE program, which is currently funding a large part of the effort.
