Annual Scandinavian Course in Neurosurgery

Neurotraumatology - Neurointensive care.

The Scandinavian Course in Neurosurgery was started in 1997 and is arranged at Radisson SAS Resort Beitostølen during last week before Palm Sunday each year. The aim of the course is firstly to enhance theoretical education of Scandinavian residents and secondly to facilitate interaction between young neurosurgeons in the Nordic countries. This course, or an equivalent EANS-course, is mandatory for board certification in most Nordic countries.

Feedback from earlier participants has been very positive. Since 2004 each course is one in a series of four courses (given over a period of four years).

Lecturers and instructors are each year selected among the best neurosurgeons in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. The course focuses on case discussions in smaller groups, but there are also a few short lectures each day.

All lectures are given in English, and English is also the language used in the case discussions.
