Trainee Research Awards to research conducted at our group of Cancer Genome Variation

2 of 60 Trainee Research Awards at the 59th Annual Conference of the American Society for Human Genetics go to research conducted at our group of Cancer Genome Variation:

Silje Nordgard, a postdoc in the group became a recipient of the 2009 Trainee Research Award. Her abstract on eQTL analyses of SNP expression associations in breast tumors was reviewed by the Program Committee and then by the Awards Committee and was selected as one of 60 out of over 400 trainee submissions for the award of 400 USD.

Peter van Loo, a visiting postdoc in the group from the University of Leuven became a recipient of the 2009 Trainee Research Award. His abstract on "Allele Specific Copy number Aberrations in Tumors" was reviewed by the Program Committee and then by the Awards Committee and was selected as one of 60 out of over 400 trainee submissions for the award of 400 USD. This work was performed during his stay at our department in collaboration with Silje Nordgard.
