Scientific projects
Ventricular function in patients with transposition of the great arteries operated with atrial and arterial switch
Supervisor:
Kai Andersen
Aim:
To characterize the ventricular contraction pattern in TGA patients operated with atrial and arterial switch
Methods:
MRI (tagging), echocardiography (tissue Doppler), ergometrics
Project II:
Ventricular function in patients with valvular disease
Determination of optimal timing for surgical intervention in patients with mitral or aortic regurgitation
Biochemical markers and echocardiography as diagnostic and prognostic markers in patients with mitral or aortic valvular disease
Supervisors:
Kai Andersen, Halfdan Ihlen
Aim:
To determine the optimal timing for surgical intervention in patients with mitral or aortic regurgitation using novel echocardiographic techniques
To investigate the diagnostic and prognostic value of biochemical markers and novel echocardiographic techniques in patients with mitral or aortic valvular disease
Methods:
Echocardiography (tissue Doppler, 2D-strain), MRI, ergometrics, blod analyses
